Stop Losing Your Remote Controls

How often do you find yourself digging in the couch cushions and crawling on the floor looking under furniture for your remote controls? Too often, I’m sure, especially if you have kids! One night, while they were all out, and I spent 15 minutes trying to find the 3 remotes required to turn on the tv, sound bar, and fire stick…I’d had enough! It was time to stop losing remote controls!

I had to make the remotes more visible. I mean seriously, who decided they should be black, the same color as the crevices in the sofa and the abyss of the unknown? I’ll tell you who…NOT a MOM!

The first thing I found was rainbow duct tape. I’m sure it was once used for duct tape wallets and who knows what else, but there was enough there to start covering remotes. It’s a little messy, and cheap looking, but I can see them!!! TV remote and sound car remote taken care of. I was pretty proud of myself, even if it looks a little dumb.

I looked at the Alexa Fire Stick remote and realized it might be tricky with the way the whole back slid off for the battery. That’s when I noticed it was’t working right, so I went on Amazon to look for a new remote. It turned out it magically started working again, but what I found blew my mind: there are silicone skins for many remote controls!!! How have I never known this?? Why would anyone keep this a secret???

I found a brilliant one for the Alexa remote: it’s green and it GLOWS IN THE DARK!!! I mean sure it might never see enough light to glow when I need it to glow, but it’s pretty fun don’t you think? Plus, the grip and texture really make it nicer to hold.

I’m happy to say I haven’t lost my remotes in weeks now, and it’s AMAZING. Sometimes it’s the little things, right moms?
